Pest are unwanted intruders that can be found around your home. In your garden, pests might be aphids, slugs or ants. For those of use who worry about the environment and the impact of chemicals to our health, pesticides are not an option. Instead, you can find suitable alternatives to store-bought chemicals from within your home.
All natural and homemade pest control methods can be very effective and inexpensive. One item that you might have in your home already is Borax. It can be sprinkled around your plants to deter ants in particular. Be careful though, Borax is toxic to pets.
Another natural method of pest control is diatomaceous earth. It should be sprinkled on the ant trail to dehydrate them and destroy the lot of them. If you can find the ant nest you can sprinkle black pepper or chilli powder near the entrance to the nest to destroy them. (more...)
